News : Apprenticeship Advice Evenings on Offer County Wide
Throughout October, County Training will be running advice evenings across Shropshire for young people leaving education next summer and also for anyone currently seeking an apprenticeship. The advice evenings will take place in Telford, Whitchurch, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Oswestry between 4-7pm (please see full details below) and all those exploring their next steps, as well as parents and carers, are urged to come along.
There will be advice and guidance on apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship programmes, information on CV writing, details of current apprenticeship openings with local employers and information on GCSE classes currently running for those considering retakes.
County Training’s apprenticeships can start at any time of the year and anyone aged 16 or above, with the right entry requirements could be eligible.
Joel Pugh, 21 who completed his business administration apprenticeship through County Training, with Shropshire Council, thinks apprenticeships are a great way into full time employment and commented “The course was simply laid out, easy to tailor to workload and cherry pick the relevant modules. The apprenticeship really helped flesh out my computer skills. In college what you’re learning isn’t in context, but with the apprenticeship you are tailoring the skills to the job you are doing.”
