News : Apprenticeship Advice Sessions
Throughout March, County Training will be running advice evenings across Shropshire for young people leaving education this summer and also for anyone currently seeking an apprenticeship. The advice evenings will take place in Telford, Whitchurch, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Oswestry between 4-7pm (please see full details below) and all those exploring their next steps, as well as parents and carers, are urged to come along.
There will be advice and guidance on apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship programmes, information on CV writing, details of current apprenticeship and traineeship openings with local employers. County Training’s apprenticeships can start at any time of the year and anyone aged 16 or above, with the right entry requirements could be eligible.
Chris Key who completed a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with County Training, and is now a Public Protection Officer with the Council, commented “The apprenticeship helped with my computer skills and there were modules on spreadsheets and emails, which have been useful in my current job. The apprenticeship has built my confidence and the accessors were very supportive.”
