Apprenticeship Details
Main Duties and Responsibilities (subject to training and age restrictions)
- Maintenance of ornamental lawns, trees, shrubberies, hedges and bedding areas
- Maintenance of sports fields: rugby, football, hockey, cricket and bowling green
- Glasshouse: production of bedding plants and hanging baskets
- Safe operation and maintenance of machinery: e.g. chainsaws, rough terrain fork lift and mobile elevated platforms
- Design and construction of hard and soft landscape features
- Maintenance of woodlands, hedgerows and conservation areas
- Safe use of pesticides
- Such other duties as instructed by the Grounds Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Horticultural / Grounds Maintenance Apprentices to join our Grounds Team. The position will be starting in March 2022.
This a great opportunity to be part of a friendly and experienced grounds maintenance team who form an integral part of Harpers daily operation. The post-holder will be required to assist with the general upkeep of the University's extensive grounds and sporting pitches. The post-holder will be supported to work towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horticluture in partnership with County Training.
