Have you ever thought it would be fun to learn something with your child? Learning together can be really enjoyable. Many parents and carers find that it helps their children and they enjoy it too!
The Family Learning team, in association with some primary schools throughout the county, provide a range of free, short courses to encourage joint learning. Courses like 'Keeping Up with the Children' offer the chance for parents to see how children are taught Maths or English in school; other courses, such as 'Family Cooking' are intended to be an opportunity to learn new skills together.
Family Learning also offers learners the opportunity to study for City and Guilds Functional Skills qualifications in English and Maths.
If you are interested in Family Learning, ask at your local primary school to see if it is involved or contact the Family Learning team on 01743 355159.
