City and Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Aluminium Phosphide for Vertebrate Pest Control

WHAT DOES THE SUBJECT INCLUDE?

The theory section of the course covers the legislative requirements, relevance of product labels, how to minimise risk of human and environmental contamination, transportation and disposal of surplus product and record keeping requirements. Within the practical section of the course you will complete a site survey, assess environmental factors, and demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics of the species to be controlled, operate Aluminium Phosphide application equipment safely and carry out post operational procedures.

LENGTH OF COURSE?

1 days training 9 till 4.15 and an independent assessment. The assessment is with an independent assessor and will be made up of both practical assessment and one to one questioning. The recommended duration for this is between 1.5 to 3.0 Hours.

IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?

If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role then you are legally required by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) (Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986) (as amended) to take this qualification The qualification is designed specifically for anyone who applies Aluminium Phosphide as part of their daily role.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

Candidates will be required to bring their own Personal Protective Equipment :

  • Type 5/6 Coveralls
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Wellingtons.
  • Also you are required to have your own ( RPE) Respiratory Protective equipment standard full face respiratory with B1/2 gas and P3 particle filters
